Structures Congress 2006

Civil Engineering Conference in the Asian Region

The Asian Civil Engineering Coordinating Council (ACECC) was founded in 1999 to coordinate the activities of ACECC member societies through the efforts of various technical committees and the organization of the Civil Engineering Conference in the Asian Region(CECAR). The previous CECARs were successfully held in Manila (1998), Tokyo(2001), and Seoul(2004). The CECAR is becoming the most important conference to discuss civil engineering technology needs, issues, and practices to meet the challenge of 21st century in the Asian region. The 4th CECAR is to be held in Taipei, Taiwan during June 25-28, 2007 and the main theme is "Working toward Asian Sustainability." The Structural Engineering World Congress (SEWC 2007)

2008 FHWA Accelerated Bridge Construction Conference: Highway for Life

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will hold its "2008 Accelerated Bridge Construction - Highway for Life" conference at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore on the Inner Harbor in Baltimore Maryland on March 20 and 21, 2008. FHWA is working to accelerate the deployment of innovation and new technology to significantly improve the driving experiences of America's motorists through the Highways for LIFE program. The Accelerated Bridge Construction conference provides a critical forum to exchange ideas and experiences within the bridge community, public and private sector. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore on the Inner Harbor and is being co-sponsored by the FHWA and 13 State DOT from across the United States.

Durability of Building Materials and Components

On behalf of the International Association for Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE), we are pleased to announce that the First International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE' 08) is organized under the auspices of Politecnico di Milano and will be held in Varenna, Lake Como, Italy, June 11-14, 2008. IALCCE is a very young Association founded in October 2006. This Association will cover all aspects of life-cycle assessment, design, maintenance, rehabilitation and monitoring of civil engineering systems. The objective of the Association is to promote international cooperation in the field of lifecycle civil engineering for the purpose of enhancing the welfare of society.

IABMAS 2008
The Fourth International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management

The International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety (IABMAS)encompasses all aspects of bridge maintenance, safety, and management. Specifically, it deals with bridge repair and rehabilitation issues; bridge management systems; needs of bridge owners, financial planning, whole life costing and investment for the future; bridge related safety and risk issues; economic and other implications. The objective of IABMAS is to promote international cooperation in the fields of bridge maintenance, safety, and management for the purpose of enhancing the welfare of society.
